What are the odds that Dan Mullen is in Starkville next year? Mississippi State is in the middle of their best season ever and Mullen's stock is rising. By the time the season ends there will be quite a few positions open. Maybe even some at high profile, traditional powerhouses.
Will Muschamp is on the hot seat at Florida. It he were to be relieved of his duties Mullen's name will be mentioned. Mullen was the offensive coordinator at Florida from 2005-2008 under Urban Meyer so he knows the territory. There are already a couple of fan run websites, like this one at hiredanmullen.com gathering supporters to hire Mullen. He would definitely be welcomed in Gainesville.
Brady Hoke is almost certainly done at Michigan and its one of the most storied programs in history. The storylines would write themselves with Mullen's former boss and mentor Urban Meyer at Ohio State. However it seems that they will be looking for someone named Harbaugh or possibly Les Miles.
Both of these schools would be seen as a step up from Mississippi State and there will be other openings. There is also a good chance quarterback.Dak Prescott will declare for the draft so it may be a good time to get out. Starkville or Gainesville, where would you rather live?
